Our Teachers

Dr. Jacqueline Koay - Founder of Sun Yoga

Sun Yoga was conceived out of my genuine desire to impart the gift of yoga to women and men from all walks of life. Yoga has been a gift to me, and I thank my teachers humbly for giving me the gift of yoga. It is my wish to pass on this gift that had led me to start Sun Yoga with my friend, confidante and support, Adam Wilkinson.

Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga is the soul of the school. It is my vision, as Founder and Director, to create a shangha based on these paths and a strong teaching tradition, which honours yoga's ancient roots as well as celebrates its role in the modern world.

Namaste.

   Moon

Moon was first exposed to yoga 5 years ago and pursued her Teacher's Traning Course in Malaysia. Having completed an international diploma In India, she is now a committed yoga teacher. "My career parh was loaded with obstacle, but, without them, I may never have found yoga and without yoga, I would not be who I am now."

One of the most important thing that yoga can teach us is not to discriminate and how to find equanimity in all things. It can often feel as if doing the right thing is the most difficult path to take, but the resistance itself is often the most important lesson for us. The chance to stand back and look the situation objectively before acting.

   Vivian Goh
Vivian has been practicing yoga since 2002. She strongly believe that happy life begins with a balanced lifestyle. Through her years of experience in practicing yoga, yoga has made many positive changes in her life. Yoga strengthens the will of the mind, enhances awareness, releases stress and enables the body and mind to connect and relax at the same time.

Vivian’s key principle in yoga is to establish a strong foundation in yoga by practicing yoga the right way, "through understanding the purpose and method of basic postures". She always emphasized that ones' achievement in yoga is not only in accomplishing extraordinary physical asana but more importantly to “listen to your body and respect your body’s limit.

Vivian is keen to share and adapt her knowledge and experience into Pregnancy Yoga. She feels that Pregnancy is God’s special privilege where a new life grows and matures within the womb of an expectant mother. More importantly, pregnancy is the time where only the expectant mother is able to breathe, feed and nurture two lives within her body at the same time (to build strong physical and emotional strength).

Pregnancy Yoga is a good and safe workout to improve blood circulation, overcome breathing difficulty, enhances body flexibility and strengthened overall body wellness. Through simple routine postures and with proper guidance, expectant mother can alleviate some of the common problems associated with pregnancy, stay healthy and be more prepared to go through most of the stages in normal pregnancy.
